For Infants-5th Grade

Children stay in the worship service through a majority of the songs before the message  experiencing worship alongside their families. I've never been to UHBC before so what should I expect?
Come as you are! Our Sunday worship includes prayer, Scripture, music, and expository Bible teaching. Kids (infants through 5th grade) are welcome to worship alongside families and can transition to Children's Church during the message. You can learn more on our Plan Your Visit page
Is UHBC a good church for college students?
Absolutely. We have a dedicated university ministry with intentional programming for OSU students and young adults, including community gatherings, Bible studies, and opportunities to connect and serve. Students are fully integrated into our church family, not treated as a separate silo.
What does UHBC believe and what denomination is it?
University Heights Baptist Church is a Bible-centered Baptist church. We believe in the authority of Scripture, salvation through Jesus Christ alone, and the importance of both learning God's Word and living it out. Our teaching is expository, meaning we work through the Bible verse by verse, and focused on practical, real-life application.
Are there programs for kids and youth at UHBC?
Yes! We have ministries for every age, from nursery through 5th grade in Children's Church, a dedicated youth program for 6th through 12th graders, and Sunday School classes for all ages. Wednesday nights are also a big part of our week, with programming running simultaneously for kids, youth, and adults.
What happens on Wednesday nights at UHBC?
Wednesday nights are one of our biggest connection points. We run classes and activities for all ages at the same time, kids, youth, and adults, making it easy for the whole family to come together and grow. It's a great way to go deeper beyond Sunday morning.
How can I get more involved or start serving at UHBC?
There are lots of ways to plug in, from serving at church to local outreach through Our Daily Bread food ministry to global work through our Hands Abroad and missions programs. A great first step is visiting our Serve page or filling out a Connect form.
Does UHBC have small groups or Bible studies I can join?
Yes! We offer Sunday School classes, men's and women's groups, senior adult gatherings, and midweek Bible studies. Whether you're new to faith or have been following Jesus for decades, there's a group where you can grow and be known.
